Hello!  Welcome to the on-line home of The Second Story! We are a home recording studio located here in beautiful and sunny Durham, North Carolina.

Our studio is specifically geared towards the emerging artist and band that is looking to do a great sounding project but without the high cost of a commercial recording facility.

We provide you with a relaxed environment in a home atmosphere that allows you to perform at your creative and personal best.  Our corporate clients have included ABC, ESPN and The Carolina Hurricanes, among others. Artists and bands contact us from across the US, to record full albums or to record drum tracks (we have one of the best sounding drum rooms in the Southeast!) to add to their projects back home.  We pride ourselves in being able to creatively adapt to best meet your needs and budget.

Hi...i just came across your website. I am looking to record a album and I am new to recording. My songs have guitar, mandolin, upright bass...mostly stringed instruments. It is along the lines of folk or whatever. And the album is 10 songs that take place in the 1800's or per say. It is about this couple meeting and the husband going to war and at the end he comes home.
If you could give me some rates or prices that would be great.

I used the Second Story and absolutely loved Wade & Kelly. When I do my next project, I WILL use them.
